Aegina is a seductive island which spreads 84 sq. km and is only 17,5 nautical miles from the port of Piraeus. It is a very picturesque island with idyllic landscapes and a vivid nature element.
The places you may visit or select as the place of your stay, besides the town of Aegina, are Aghia Marina, which has a wonderful sandy beach with amazing natural beauty, Souvala, which is famous for its healing hot springs, the picturesque fishers' village of Perdika famous for its crystal and clean beaches and many more.
Another impressive area worth visiting is the island of Angistri, which is opposite Aegina. Aggistri offers golden beaches but also rocky, secluded shores for fishing as well as swimming, thus satisfying every taste.
The isle of Aegina is full of historical sites such as: the spectacular temple of Aphaia, which was built in the 6th century BC, the archaeological and folklore museum, the temple of Hellanios Dias (Zeus), Kapralo's museum (with art and sculpture), Palaia Hora (Byzantine Aegina), the monastery of Aghios Nektarios and many other interesting places.
